Spa Pressure & Vacuum Switches

Spa Pressure Switches, which normally operate by water pressure on a bellows that pushes up a little rod that presses on the switch activator, must be manually activated which can be a little tricky because the activating button is underneath the micro switch. You have to stick a little flathead screwdriver in there to activate the spa pressure switch because with power off you won't have pressure. Don't forget to remove the wires from it to test. Pressure switches are used to detect whether there is any water flowing through the heater assembly. Unfortunately, when these things fail, they generally fail in the closed position and there is no indication that they are not doing their job. In most cases a spa system will work just fine with a stuck pressure or low switch - until there is a need for it.
