end replacement ?
I need to replace the wet end of the pump on an older hot tub.
The motor is a Waterway unit and I was able to pull it easily.
Question is, how do I get the wet end off the motor? I was able
to loosen the 4 bolts at the opposite end of the motor that hold
the pump body to the front of the motor. Is that a press fit to
the shaft? I pulled the face plate off the front of the impeller
body, and there's what looks like a nut on the end of the
impeller itself, but I'll be hanged if I can get that wet end
off the motor! Thanks in advance!

Post subject: Pump wet end replacement First you want to put
the four bolts in the back, back on. The impeller is threaded
onto the shaft. You have to hold the impeller secure and on the
back of the motor you should see a flat head slot . Turn the
impeller and the screwdriver in opposite direction (to remove
the impeller turn the screw driver to the left, the right to
install) Most of the time it will have to be chiseled off of the
shaft if it will not unthread. Once the impeller is off then
undo the four bolts in the back to remove the back plate of the
wet end. To replace the new wet end is easier than removing. If
you order a complete wet end all you have to do is hand thread
the impeller onto the haft then put the four blots back. The
seal is not a machine compression. It can be replaced.
