Post subject: Spa Cycling Power on Timer I've got a Morgan
spa that is about 8 or 9 years old (I think -- it came with my
house). I run the spa on the 24-hour pump timer, set to run
continuously in the afternoon/evening for about 10 hours and the
heater timer is disabled.
I recently had to replace the timer breaker, because it would
no longer switch on. After I replaced the timer, it started
cycling power on and off (on for about a minute, off for about
15 minutes) during the time when the spa is supposed to be off
(it runs fine when it is supposed to be on). I replaced the
timer breaker again, but the new breaker has the same problem.
To troubleshoot, I disconnected the bypass switch for the timer
and the cycling still happens. I also disconnected the power
from the timer contacts and put a meter to see if the contacts
were closing while it was running, but I didn't see it happen.
I'm guessing there is something else causing this, but can't
isolate it. Any ideas? |
