Brom Tabs

New Tablet Shape!! A concentrated source of active bromine ideal for hot tub sanitizing. These Brom Tabs dissolve slowly and evenly and fit in most spa feeders and floaters to provide continuous disinfection of your spa.

New round tablets designed for floating brominators or in-line dispensers. This product is a new form of brominating hydantoin for spas and hot tubs. It is easily adapted to many erosion feeders used to automatically treat both commercial and residential spas and hot tubs. When used as directed, Brom Tabs will disinfect spa and hot tub water, keeping it clean, clear and free of odor. This product gives the effectiveness of chlorine without the chlorine odor. Proper sanitary practices require changing spa water at a minimum of every 30 days.
 

Advantage: Unique chemistry provides the effectiveness of chlorine without the chlorine odor. Fits most floating feeders. Produces a bromine residual quickly at start-up.

Start-Up:

1. NOTE: Before using Brominating Tablets in your spa for the first time, add 1/2 oz. of Sodium Bromide per 100 gallons of water to establish a 30 ppm bromide reserve. Also, add Sodium Bromide whenever the spa is drained and refilled. The bromide reserve is needed to keep the system completely bromine based, to eliminate chlorinous odors and to assure maximum water comfort to skin and eyes.

2. To startup a new spa, or one recently drained, clean all surfaces, back flush or clean the filter, chemically balance the calcium hardness and total alkalinity, treat for iron, copper and manganese, if present and adjust the pH to 7.4-7.6, prior to initiating treatment with this product. Add sodium bromide as prescribed above. Place Brominating Tablets in a suitable feeder. Adjust feeder according to the manufacturers directions to maintain an active bromine level of 2-4 ppm in residential spas and 3-6 ppm in commercial spas. Use a reliable test kit for free bromine measurements.

3. SUPER OXIDATION: Water soluble, non-filterable wastes can accumulate in spa or hot tub water and cause dull or cloudy water and can stimulate algal growth. Super oxidation or super chlorination with a suitable oxidizing shock treatment should be done on a regular basis to remove these wastes and maintain clear, sparkling water. Suitable oxidizing agents are those based on calcium hypochlorite, lithium hypochlorite, sodium hypochlorite or potassium peroxymonopersulfate.

4. DANGER: Do not mix this product in concentrated form with any other chemicals. Do not add other chemicals to the feeding device when using this product. A violent reaction leading to fire and/or explosion could result.

Tips: Proper sanitary practices require changing spa water every three months per the Simple Spa Care® Program. Maintain a sanitizer level of 3-5 ppm.
